There was a time when a vacation was more than just a trip; it was a ritual. It had its own rhythm and a very specific aesthetic, resorts weren't just places to sleep; they were stages for a certain kind of shared elegance and effortless leisure. Today, that sense of "ceremony" feels a bit watered down. Travel has become faster and more accessible, but in the rush, we’ve lost some of the magic and that deep, lingering sense of atmosphere.
This project is an invitation to reclaim that lost world. Through the lens of iconic films and TV series set in holiday resorts, we revisit a vision of travel that feels both nostalgic and timeless. Between sun-drenched terraces and cinematic escapes, these pages rediscover the vacation not just as a break from reality, but as a beautiful, curated experience waiting to be lived again.

A JOURNEY THROUGH THE PAGES
The lost art of vacationism was built entirely around the evocative imagery and distinct aesthetics of iconic, renowned television shows and films from the last few decades. It explores how our collective idea of the "perfect getaway" has been curated by the screen, turning fictional places into aspirational realities. Each chapter of this study focuses on the narrative of a unique setting, specifically anchored within the walls of a hotel or resort. By analyzing these storied environments, we uncover how architecture, service, and atmosphere collaborate to create a sense of place that is both timeless and cinematic.
